The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in cloud/infrastructure, including experience as an architect, as well as deep knowledge of major cloud providers like AWS and GCP. You will lead migrations, manage costs through FinOps, and provide startup advisory on cloud strategies.

Job description

Cloud Architect at Sensei designs and launches cloud platforms for Series A+ startups and scaling businesses. Not "tick the Well-Architected checklist" — but create a platform the client's team can actually work with: comprehensible, cost-managed, secure by default.

We work across the EU market and the Russian compliance perimeter. Knowing the specifics of Russian cloud providers is as valuable as an AWS certification.

What you'll work on

• Design multi‑cloud and hybrid landing zones across different providers and jurisdictions (EU/RU/APAC) — not just multi‑region within a single operator; networking, IAM, security baseline, observability
• Lead migrations from on‑prem and between cloud providers
• Build FinOps culture at client organisations: cost visibility, rightsizing rules, budgets
• Advise startups on cloud strategy: provider selection, architectural patterns
• Participate in pre‑sales — technically justify the proposal to the client

What matters

• 5+ years in cloud/infrastructure, at least 2 as architect or tech lead
• Deep knowledge of at least one major provider (AWS / GCP / Yandex Cloud) and understanding of the differences
• FinOps as built‑in design thinking, not a separate practice bolted on later
• Can explain an architectural decision to a business stakeholder — not "we need multi‑region because resilience"
• Compliance experience: GDPR, Russian 152-FZ, data residency requirements

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple Russian cloud providers (Yandex Cloud, Cloud.ru, MWS, VK)
• Cloud security skills: CSPM, CWPP, incident response
• Public case studies, architecture talks, or open‑source contributions
• Involvement in shaping the team's internal LLM infrastructure: how to deploy, govern, and secure AI services in a multi‑cloud environment
