About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with strong expertise across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
This role is ideal for a technology professional who can translate complex business requirements into reliable cloud solutions and work closely with engineering, DevOps, security, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective cloud architectures.
- Develop cloud migration and modernization strategies for enterprise applications and infrastructure.
- Architect cloud solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Define cloud infrastructure, networking, security, identity, storage, compute, and database architectures.
- Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premises environments to cloud platforms.
- Design and implement cloud-native and hybrid-cloud solutions.
- Establish cloud architecture standards, best practices, governance, and reference architectures.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to implement CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation.
- Work with security teams to implement cloud security, IAM, encryption, compliance, and risk-management controls.
- Analyze existing infrastructure and recommend opportunities for performance improvement, modernization, and cost optimization.
- Develop disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and high-availability strategies.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, solution designs, and implementation roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers, DevOps engineers, and development teams.
- Troubleshoot complex architectural and infrastructure challenges and provide scalable long-term solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, infrastructure, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform:
- AWS
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, distributed systems, scalability, availability, and resiliency.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, load balancing, VPN, DNS, and firewalls.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM/Bicep.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, and security best practices.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Cloud certifications such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience with serverless architecture and cloud-native application development.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, service mesh, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
- Previous experience leading enterprise-scale cloud transformation or modernization projects.
