Job Description

The AWS Cloud Engineering role is responsible for designing and implementing a well-architected solution that aggregates data from multiple sources, stores various types of data, and federates and displays the data across multiple dashboards and control center applications. The project involves design and architecture work, challenging custom software development, and migration efforts. Extensive familiarity with AWS Cloud Engineering, especially in AWS Networking technical areas, is required. The position offers multiple paths for career growth, supporting both technical and management career tracks.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct architectural reviews, audits, and produce detailed technical documentation and cloud architecture diagrams to support client engagements and Statements of Work.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end, back-end, and database teams, to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions.
  3. Design and implement AWS architectures using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS-native solutions to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
  4. Develop and manage modern CI/CD pipelines with AWS or other cloud-native tools, and container orchestration.
  5. Analyze infrastructure requirements and perform cost-performance assessments to optimize resource usage and meet compliance standards.
  6. Participate in discovery calls and requirements gathering sessions, translating business challenges into robust AWS solutions.
  7. Manage Agile/Scrum processes, break down user stories into actionable tasks, and ensure timely, quality delivery.
  8. Monitor cloud infrastructure costs and performance metrics.
  9. Act as a technical consultant, advising on best practices for AWS cloud architecture.
  10. Document architectural decisions, configurations, and design artifacts.
  11. Assist with frontend software development using React or NextJS.
  12. Assist with the creation and utilization of backend and database technologies such as PostgreSQL and NodeJS.
  13. Build reusable components and optimize code.
Essential Skills
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, preferably in AWS.
  2. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other AWS Professional level certifications.
  3. Experience with AWS GovCloud.
  4. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
  5. Experience with DevOps tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
  6. Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and modern deployment practices.
  7. Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing CI/CD pipelines using AWS and/or other cloud-native tools.
  8. Solid understanding of networking and database design, both relational and NoSQL.
  9. Comfortable with programming/scripting for cloud automation (Python, Bash).
  10. Experience working with and sending data between databases, S3, and applications using APIs.
  11. Experience developing production-grade web applications and/or single-page applications.
  12. Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  13. Experience building and utilizing secure REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
  14. Familiarity with AWS data services like Athena, Glue, Redshift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  1. AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certification.
  2. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
  3. Comfortable working with CSS and user interface implementation/design.
Work Environment

This role is fully remote. The work environment offers flexibility and encourages collaboration through virtual communication tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
