Job summary

Xtensys is seeking a Cloud Architect to design and deploy secure, highly available cloud solutions for healthcare clients, spanning AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

You will lead automation using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and ARM templates, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with clients on requirements and pre-sales efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field, or equivalent combination of 5-7 years’ education and experience.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar platforms.
• Active professional Cloud Solutions Architect certification or obtained within 6 months of employment; additional cloud/security certs are a plus.
• Strong understanding of security and HIPAA/HITRUST knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage secure, highly available cloud infrastructure for healthcare clients using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other leading providers.
• Utilize Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and Deployment Manager for automation.
• Act as technical lead and individual contributor from conception through implementation and support.
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as an escalation point for cloud issues.
• Collaborate with client organizations to gather requirements, present solutions, and ensure positive customer experience.
• Participate in pre-sales activities and solution demonstrations with sales and business development teams.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to HIPAA and HITRUST security/compliance.
• Document architecture, processes, and procedures for internal and client use.
• Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments as client needs evolve.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support objectives.

Compensation Range:

$110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

The Role / Your Mission:

The Cloud Architect takes projects from conception through implementation and support, ensuring secure, highly available solutions that meet healthcare compliance requirements. Success is measured by solution quality, client satisfaction, successful project delivery, and team development contributions.

Position supports HIPAA-regulated healthcare environments; compliance with all applicable security and privacy requirements is mandatory May participate in client-facing presentations and pre-sales demonstrations

What You'll Do Day-to-Day:

• Design, deploy, and manage secure, highly available cloud infrastructure for healthcare clients leveraging AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and other leading providers
• Utilize cloud management and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager
• Act as both technical lead and individual contributor, taking projects from conception through implementation and support
• Serve as a key escalation point for cloud-related issues and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate directly with client organizations, gathering requirements, presenting solutions, and ensuring a positive customer experience
• Participate in pre-sales activities and solution demonstrations in partnership with sales and business development teams
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates to improve operational efficiency
• Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance best practices, including HIPAA and HITRUST
• Document architecture, processes, and procedures for internal and client use
• Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments as client needs evolve
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects, as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Who You Are & What You’ll Bring:

• Demonstrated ability to design, automate, and optimize cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM, or similar)
• Experience working directly with clients, including requirements gathering, solution presentation, and ongoing support
• Solid understanding of security and compliance best practices; healthcare HIPAA knowledge preferred
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong documentation and process development skills
• Willingness and ability to mentor other engineers and act as an escalation point for complex issues
• Experience supporting pre-sales and solution demonstration efforts preferred

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of 5-7 years’ education and experience.

Certifications:

Current / Active Professional-level Cloud Solutions Architect certification is required. In lieu of this active certification, one must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment). Additional cloud or security certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional and AWS Security Specialty, HashiCorp Terraform Associate), preferred.

Proven Track Record:

3–5 years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions using services from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar platforms.

Physical Readiness:

Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, and lifting, up to 25 lbs. as needed. Ability to participate in virtual meetings and presentations.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel (up to 10%) may occur for client engagements, training, or team events.
