Job summary

ISO New England Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager with extensive experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Java, and SQL to lead a team responsible for our public website and enterprise applications.

This role combines strategic direction with hands-on development and production issue resolution in a hybrid work setting. You will architect scalable cloud solutions, mentor engineers, and drive delivering projects on time and within budget while promoting best practices and proactive operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
• 3+ years’ experience with AWS services (e.g., EKS, IAM, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB)
• 3+ years’ experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes

Responsibilities

• Architect and design solutions using AWS services (EKS, IAM, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Lead engineering teams to build high quality web applications using Java, SQL and front-end technologies in Agile environments.
• Oversee DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for automation and deployments.
• Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive system health and troubleshooting.
• Lead on-call rotation to support production systems.
