Job summary

The ideal candidate has hands-on Terraform and CI/CD experience, strong AI governance skills, and a track record of collaborating across security, operations, and architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Azure or GCP.
• Production deployment experience using a foundation model platform.
• Knowledge of AI safety, hallucination mitigation, and governance in government data contexts.
• 7+ years applying cloud architecture and AI governance in similar roles.
• Ability to collaborate across business units, architecture, operations, and security on standards.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

The Cloud and AI Architect designs, implements, and optimizes IT infrastructure for the Indiana Office of Technology, serving state agencies. The role focuses on developing cloud strategy across Azure and GCP platforms, establishing security and compliance standards, and governing enterprise AI and generative AI systems. You will collaborate with stakeholders, development teams, and leadership to ensure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise goals.

Key qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of public cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) with hands-on proficiency in Terraform and CI/CD automation
• Demonstrated experience designing or governing enterprise AI systems with at least one production deployment using a foundation model platform
• Strong understanding of AI safety practices, hallucination mitigation, responsible AI controls, and government data classification requirements
• 7+ years of experience applying cloud architecture and AI governance knowledge in a similar role
• Ability to collaborate across business units, architecture, operations, and security on development and implementation of standards
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
