Job summary

NetApp is hiring a Principal Engineer to anchor the Cloud AI product. You will own architecture, set engineering direction, and write production code while aligning product vision with executable plans. Expect hands-on work on core systems, APIs, and multi-cloud deployment.

You will lead a high-performance team, design scalable architectures, and collaborate across engineering, product, and leadership to deliver on aggressive goals and high reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years in software development with deep cloud experience.
• Experience designing enterprise-grade distributed systems and cloud-native services.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product architecture, including service boundaries and API contracts.
• Design and build core systems: agent orchestration, knowledge bases, tool-calling, and multi-cloud execution.
• Own developer-facing surfaces: APIs, SDKs, and tooling for external customers.
• Lead engineering execution: set standards, reviews, and unblock progress.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical bar across the team.
