Job summary

American Century Investments seeks an Architect Advisor to accelerate cloud migration, automation, and AI-enabled platform strategy. You will join a team of enterprise architects and develop skills across cloud, data, automation, and AI capabilities supporting enterprise innovation.

The role reports to the Director, Enterprise Architecture. This hybrid position is based in Kansas City, MO, and requires authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years technical experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in administering SaaS Based products.
• Diverse variety of technical and operational interests and capabilities, including Java, Microsoft, databases, virtualization, monitoring, automation technologies.
• Extensive experience with public cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
• Experience with AI/ML or generative AI capabilities in enterprise environments, including cloud AI services, model integration, prompt-driven solutions, AI assistants, or responsible AI governance
• Expert knowledge of DNS, Load Balancing, DB Clustering, and High Availability as it relates to all tiers of architecture
• Proven background in scripting and development: Python, Node.js
• Ability to assess AI use cases, translate business needs into technical solution patterns, and communicate AI architecture considerations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with automated deployment technologies
• Experience with infrastructure as code, container management and deployment
• Ability to work in high stress environment with both tactical and strategic deliveries
• The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, task driven, and have superb communication skills
• Works effectively with others in and outside the organization to accomplish goals, objectives and to identify and resolve problems
• Craft solution collateral including solution documents, develop level of effort estimates, risk assessment
• Work cohesively with other technology practices to provide seamless multi-disciplinary services integration for application reams

• Design scalable infrastructure and platform services enterprise-wide.
• Provide access to IaaS and PaaS solutions supporting business goals.
• Drive AI adoption to improve efficiency and innovation.
• Assess requirements and recommend cloud and platform patterns.
• Influence roadmap priorities for feature enhancements and innovation.
• Partner across teams to accelerate technology transformation and value of AI investments.
• Draft design collateral and estimates, assess risks, and ensure governance.
