Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services seeks a Cloud AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise AI solutions in cloud environments. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic leadership to leverage AI for improved services and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud computing.
• 2+ years of experience in cloud-based AI/ML system design, development, or administration preferred

Responsibilities

• Leads CTO strategic initiatives and technology projects with a focus on AI and cloud solutions; defines, designs, and delivers AI‑enabled systems.
• Drives data and AI initiatives across multiple agency systems and IT groups; ensures adherence to data security and regulatory requirements.
• Designs, develops, and administers highly scalable AI systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); implements model training, inference, reporting, and integration.
• Leads end‑to‑end delivery of AI solutions including analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and support; develops standards and documentation.
• Evaluates current solutions against desired outcomes; helps develop roadmaps and investment justifications.
• Oversees staff training on AI tools and promotes AI adoption across technical teams
