Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. is hiring for a backroom/stock role at our Chandler, AZ location. The position focuses on organizing backroom spaces, coordinating freight, and supporting daily store operations to ensure a top-notch customer experience.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of retail experience and may have hands-on tool experience. This on-site role offers opportunities to contribute to a safety-focused, team-driven environment with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Organize, manage, and clean backroom spaces and fixture storage areas.
• Communicate with associates before transporting freight/fixtures to departments or off-site warehouse.
• Coordinate scheduling with leadership for builds, shipments, and movement of Opto walls, Lozier walls, and Adams racking.
• Lead a team to execute plans in line with Scheels safety expectations.
• Establish product clearing expectations before events.
• Help identify bulk products for off-site storage.
• Assist customers and salespeople with loading purchased products.
• Transport freight and fixtures to and from the warehouse.
• Maintain clear written and spoken communication and know how to use equipment and tools properly.
• Assist in removing snow and debris around the building.
• Support team coverage across store areas.
• Keep personal workspace and surrounding areas tidy.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Assist associates by organizing, managing, and cleaning backroom spaces and fixture storage areas
• Communicate effectively with all associates before transporting freight/fixtures to the various departments or off-site warehouse
• Coordinate scheduling with Leadership, Specialty Shop Managers, or Merchandisers for builds/large shipments/assembly/disassembly and movement of Opto walls, Lozier walls, and Adams racking
• Lead a team in the execution of the plan according to Scheels safety expectations
• Establish product clearing expectations before the date of the event
• Help identify products in bulk that can be taken to off-site storage
• Assist customers and salespeople with retrieving and loading purchased products
• Organize, categorize, and transport freight and fixtures to and from the warehouse
• Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and promptly
• Be knowledgeable of all equipment and tools, and how to use them properly
• Assist in the removal of snow and debris from walkways, rooftops, and landscaping around the building
• Ability to work with a team and help out to cover absences in other areas of the store
• Maintain an orderly appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including off-site warehouses
• Other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in a retail environment. Preference for candidates who have experience using hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
