Job summary

Scheels in Chandler, AZ is seeking an organized associate to help maintain backroom spaces, fixtures, and stock flow. You will coordinate with department leaders to schedule builds, move freight, and support safety standards while delivering a smooth in-store experience.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a retail setting and comfort using hand and power tools; strong communication is essential. The role offers full-time hours, benefits, and opportunities to grow with our ESOP-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of related experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience using hand and power tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist associates by organizing, managing, and cleaning backroom spaces and fixture storage areas.
  • Coordinate scheduling with Leadership, Specialty Shop Managers, or Merchandisers for builds/large shipments/assembly/disassembly and movement of Opto walls, Lozier walls, and Adams racking.
  • Lead a team in the execution of the plan according to Scheels safety expectations.
  • Establish product clearing expectations before the date of the event.
  • Help identify products in bulk that can be taken to off-site storage.
  • Assist customers and salespeople with retrieving and loading purchased products.
  • Organize, categorize, and transport freight and fixtures to and from the warehouse.
  • Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and promptly.
  • Be knowledgeable of all equipment and tools, and how to use them properly.
  • Assist in the removal of snow and debris from walkways, rooftops, and landscaping around the building.
  • Ability to work with a team and help out to cover absences in other areas of the store.
  • Maintain an orderly appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including off-site warehouses.
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in a retail environment. Preference for candidates who have experience using hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
