Job summary

Treasure Kids Academy is seeking an infant assistant afternoon teacher to create a safe, nurturing classroom and support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

You will plan engaging, age-appropriate activities, guide behavior with developmentally appropriate practices, and collaborate with families and staff to ensure continuity of care. The role is Monday–Friday, with afternoon shifts and a strong emphasis on cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Part-time schedule Monday–Friday, 11:00–6:30 or 2:00–6:30.
• Must complete a Background Screening (Clearinghouse).
• Not required but preferred: CDA, Associate's Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education.
• Not required- CPR/First Aid certification but must obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of learning strategies including play-based activities and small-group instruction.
• Support language, literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills through intentional teaching.
• Observe and document children's development; maintain progress notes or portfolios.
• Communicate with families daily and share updates while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to keep a positive classroom climate.
• Prepare materials, set up learning centers, and assist with transitions.
• Assist with meals, toileting, diapering, handwashing, and other care routines.

Job description

Infant assistant afternoon teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This position supports children's social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through intentional planning, positive interactions, and hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Environment & Safety:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom at all times.
• Ensure constant, active supervision of children; follow all health and safety regulations.
• Implement daily routines that support predictability, independence, and positive behavior.

Curriculum & Instruction:

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones and program goals.
• Use a variety of learning strategies including play-based learning, small-group instruction, and hands‑on activities.
• Support language, literacy, math, science, and social‑emotional skills through intentional teaching.

Child Development & Guidance:

• Promote positive behavior using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques.
• Support inclusion by adapting activities and instruction to meet individual needs.
• Observe and assess children's development; document progress through notes, portfolios, or assessments.

Family Communication:

• Build positive relationships with families through daily communication and ongoing updates.
• Maintain confidentiality of all child and family information.

Professionalism & Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with co‑teachers and staff to maintain a positive classroom climate.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training as required.
• Follow all center policies, licensing guidelines, and reporting procedures.

Classroom Management & Daily Duties:

• Prepare materials, set up learning centers, and assist with transitions.
• Assist with meals, toileting, diapering, handwashing, and other care routines as needed.
• Maintaining a clean, sanitized classroom at all times by following Treasure Kids Academy Mandatory Cleaning Checklist.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, Cleaning is a main job requirement.
• This position is Monday- Friday(required)-NO WEEKENDS. Part Time Position 11-6:30 or 2:00-6:30.
• Must complete a Background Screening (Clearinghouse).
• NOT REQUIRED but must obtain within 90 days of employment -45 Hours State Mandated Child Care Training Courses (This must be on Training Transcript).
• (Not Required but a +) CDA, Associate's Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education.
• NOT REQUIRED- CPR/First Aid certification (must obtain within 90 days).
