Job summary

Nomura in New York is seeking a Junior CLO Trading Analyst to join the Global Markets desk. You will learn CLO debt and equity pricing, run bond analytics, and support market-making across tranches from AAA to unrated.

You will maintain monthly marks, manage CLO repo/financing metrics, and keep the BWIC calendar current while collaborating with hedge funds, asset managers, banks and insurers. Strong Excel and VBA skills, plus interest in finance and programming, are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required; finance or engineering background preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in VBA is a plus; Bloomberg and Intex analytics experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Run bond analytics to price and trade CLO debt and equity across tranches.
  • Produce monthly marks for clients and CLO repo/financing activities.
  • Maintain the BWIC calendar and coordinate with internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with hedge funds, asset managers, banks and insurers in a fast-paced team.

Role Description

The role is for a Junior Trader on the #1 Greenwich ranked Nomura CLO Trading desk, housed within the Securitized Products business. The candidate filling this role should be highly motivated to learn the product and develop a skillset for market-making. Tasks will include running bond analytics to price & trade CLO Debt & Equity, from Aaa-rated tranches down to unrated Equity. Additional tasks include monthly marks for clients, marks for CLO repo/financing, & maintaining the BWIC calendar. All of these tasks involve working closely with customers including Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds, Asset Managers, Insurance Companies, & Banks. Candidate should have the ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks and move seamlessly across activities. Strong communication skills are required to interact with both internal teams as well as external clients

Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Academic and/or Work Experience in Finance/Engineering preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in computer languages/programming (VBA primarily) is a plus
  • Experience with Bloomberg and/or INTEX analytics is a plus
