A leading healthcare provider in Huntsville is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their clinical team. The role involves providing high-quality patient care, managing patient registrations, and assisting with procedures. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a high school diploma and certification as a Medical Assistant, along with prior clinic experience.
Acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team to provide continuous, high-quality patient care. Responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and answering phones. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patients and exam rooms for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support to assist physicians, patients, and families. Returns patient phone calls.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
Experience: Minimum of one year of clinic experience in a clinical setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred. Skills in typing, word processing, computer use, and telephone handling preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly. Must be able to operate computers, fax machines, and copiers. Attention to detail and teamwork skills are essential. Experience with GPMS/EMR is desirable. BCLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period.
