A leading healthcare provider in Huntsville is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their clinical team. The role involves providing quality patient care, handling administrative tasks, and supporting physicians and patients. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and have experience in a clinical setting. Acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team, providing continuity of and quality patient care. Responsible for registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and answering telephones. Initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patients and exam rooms for procedures, and collects specimens. Provides patient education and support as needed to assist physicians, patients, and families. Returns patient phone calls.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
Experience: Minimum of one year of clinic experience in a clinical setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred. Typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and changing tasks quickly. Proficient with computers, fax machines, and copiers. Must be detail-oriented and work well in a team. Experience with GPMS/EMR is desired. BCLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period.
