Family Services Inc. seeks a passionate Clinician for its Family Education Program, focusing on providing therapeutic services to families in need. The role includes assessing needs and collaborating to improve relationships among families at risk. Ideal candidates will be licensed mental health professionals with experience in trauma-informed care.

Salary: $32.00 per hour
Supervisor: Director of Family Support Services
Program: Orange County Family Education Program
Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 15 hours per week
Schedule: This is a part-time, 15 hour per week position. Days are Monday-Friday during business hours, not all days are required and there is flexibility in the schedule.
Position Overview:
The Family Education Program is a child abuse prevention program that employs a strength-based and family-focused approach to engage families at risk of having a child placed outside of the home and/or where abuse or neglect has occurred.
The Clinician will provide therapeutic services for families who need support to process trauma, improve relationships, deepen family connections, and foster resiliency. The Clinician will utilize strength-based family therapy as well as other trauma-informed therapeutic modalities to strengthen and preserve families engaged in services. The Clinician will assess needs, safety plan, and provide crisis intervention as needed throughout the intervention. The Clinician will collaborate with internal and external team members with the goal of supporting families as the Family Education Program works to prevent out of home placement because of abuse, neglect, and trauma within the family system.

Therapeutic services will be provided at the Family Education Program office in Middletown, NY or in clients’ homes, depending on the need of the family. Occasional travel for sessions, meetings and training may be required.
