Job summary

Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center in Scottsdale is seeking a licensed or licensed-eligible clinician to provide trauma-informed therapy to youth ages 7-17. You will conduct individual, group, and family sessions, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Strong documentation and crisis management skills are essential. Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work is required, with licensure pursuit supported by supervision.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work required; psychology degree considered depending on coursework/experience.
  • Preferred licensure ability with Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LAC/LPC/LMSW/LCSW etc.).
  • Proficient computer skills and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Therapy sessions: individual, group and family with trauma-informed care focus.
  • Complete clinical assessments, plan treatment and write discharge summaries.
  • Provide crisis intervention and create safety plans for behavioral health crises.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, direct care staff and case managers as part of the team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes.

Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides intensive, 24-hour support for youth aged 7 to 17, who are experiencing serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. In a structured, therapeutic environment, we combine clinical expertise with compassionate, trauma-informed care to help youth heal, grow and build a brighter future. Licensed, master’s-level clinicians provide a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including: individual, group and family therapy, trauma-informed treatment modalities, support for youth with complex emotional and behavioral needs, and ongoing assessment and collaboration through Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings.

Clinician Key Responsibilities & Job Duties:

  • Therapeutic Services: Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions, often focusing on trauma-informed care and behavioral health.
  • Assessment & Planning: Complete comprehensive clinical assessments, formulate individualized treatment plans, and write discharge summaries.
  • Crisis Management: Provide crisis intervention and assist in creating safety plans, particularly for behavioral health crises.
  • Collaboration: Act as a key member of the Child and Family Team, working with psychiatrists, direct care staff, and case managers.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation (progress notes, assessments).

We have specialty programs if you are passionate about working with youth that have been sexually trafficked, LGBTQ+ youth, including gender variant youth pursuing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), younger populations, adolescents and transition-aged youth, group and family therapy modalities, youth that struggle with substance abuse, youth with mood disorders and suicidal ideation, and more. Our Clinical supervisors have extensive experience and expertise in all levels of care. And, our Board approved supervisors with LCSW’s, LPC’s, and LBA’s can assist you in preparing for licensure!

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (with other hours as needed)
  • Location: 6436 E. Sweetwater Ave., Scottsdale, Arizona 85254
  • Salary Range:
    • $58,000 - $63,800 (non-licensed)
    • $63,000 - $69,300 (Associate-level)
    • $68,000 - $74,800 (Independent-level)

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree required: Counseling or Social Work degree preferred; Master’s Degree in Psychology to be considered depending on relevance of course work and previous job experience providing direct therapy
  • Preferred: One (1) year Clinician experience and ability to obtain licensure through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LAC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LAAC, LIAC)
  • Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to attend full time new hire orientation Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm (paid)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
