Job summary

Devereux Arizona’s Brief Intervention Program (BIP) seeks Direct Care Professionals to provide direct supervision and support for youth ages 7 to 17 in a structured, 24-hour setting at 7444 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson.

The role emphasizes crisis de-escalation, daily documentation, and enrichment activities to promote healing and skill-building. Qualifications include being 21+, a high school diploma or GED, and six weeks of behavioral health experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and assist the day-to-day schedule for individuals.

• Document progress for daily, weekly, and monthly logs and attend weekly clinical supervision meetings.
• Assist with enrichment activities such as art, music, culinary arts, athletics and adult-transition prep.

Devereux Arizona’s Brief Intervention Program (BIP) is a short-term, intensive residential treatment program designed for youth who require stabilization, therapeutic support and 24-hour supervision in a structured and secure environment. Serving youth, ages 7 to 17, the BIP provides a safe space for healing and skill-building. The program is designed for individuals experiencing significant challenges in social, emotional, psychiatric and/or psychological functioning, and who may not have responded to previous community-based services. Our goal is to work closely with families and treatment teams to assess, stabilize and prepare youth for a successful return to home, foster care or another community-based setting – as quickly and safely as possible.

Direct Care Professionals (DCP) provide direct supervision and assist the day-to-day schedule for individuals. Direct support duties include:

• Helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de-escalating crisis situations, treatment plan implementation
• Personal care (bathing, dressing), medication management, transport, and fostering social skills
• Documenting progress for daily, weekly, and monthly logs, adhering to the activity schedule, and attending weekly clinical supervision meetings
• Assisting with the planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, culinary arts, various athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep!

Additional Details:

• Pay Range: $18/hr - $19.80/hr
• Various Scheduling Options; ability to work afternoons/nights and weekends (schedules are subject to change)

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).
