Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a part-time residential care staff member to provide direct and indirect services for adults with serious mental illness in a 16-bed South Side Pittsburgh unit. The role includes safety checks, unit monitoring, crisis de-escalation, and shift documentation.

We value compassionate, solutions-focused providers who support community-based care, with clearances and a valid driver’s license. Expect weekend 8a–4p or 4p–12a shifts, with hours varying by program needs.

Qualifications

• Master Degree in Human Services and 1 year of applicable experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Services related field with 3 years of applicable experience
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to drive an organization vehicle
• Act 33/34/73 Clearances
• Pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

• Will provide direct and indirect services for mentally ill and dual-diagnosed adults including safety checks, unit monitoring, crisis de-escalation and shift documentation
• Integral member of our Treatment Team, in constant collaboration with unit supervisors and other team members
• Responsible for helping persons served with severe persistent mental illness maintain safety and stability throughout their stay in a residential facility
• The program is a 16 bed unit located in the South Side area of Pittsburgh that connects adults with mental illness back to the community after psychiatric hospitalization
