Job summary

Central Massachusetts Collaborative in Worcester, MA, is seeking an energetic Clinician to support a diverse K–12 student population in a therapeutic day school. The role focuses on intake, assessments, IEP input, and counseling to promote social, coping, and organizational skills.

The clinician will collaborate with school staff, families, and district specialists to implement behavior plans, monitor progress, and maintain records.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in counseling, social work, school adjustment counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensed within their field and through the Department of Education as a Guidance Counselor, School Adjustment Counselor or a comparable license.
  • Two years experience working with students with social/emotional disorders.

Responsibilities

Job Description

CMC is seeking an energetic and flexible Clinician who is eager to work in our therapeutic day school with a high needs population of students grades K-12. This position is accountable for identifying student needs and providing clinical services to students assigned within their caseload through resourcefulness and sound judgement consistent with the rules and regulations of the Central Massachusetts Collaborative.

  • 1. Responsible for supporting the intake process for new and returning students.
  • 2. Responsible for completing clinical assessments and writing reports.
  • 3. Responsible for developing social emotional goals and objectives and monitoring progress toward goals.
  • 4. Responsible for participating as an active member of students teams including 504 and IEP teams.
  • 5. Responsible for providing input to and writing portions of assigned students IEP’s and completing quarterly progress reports for students on assigned caseload.
  • 6. Responsible for providing clinical services, including individual and small group counseling, to students assigned within his/her caseload to assist students in learning social, coping, and organizational skills.
  • 7. Responsible for collaboration and coordination with school staff, outside providers, district-wide specialists, and parents/guardians regarding clinical concerns and recommendations.
  • 8. Responsible for supporting teachers with classroom management by developing effective behavior intervention plans, modeling implementation strategies and supporting ongoing review and reinforcement of self regulation and social emotional skills within the classroom and larger school environment.
  • 9. Responsible for maintaining clinical records to document service provision including attendance data, Medicaid paperwork and other required documentation for assigned caseload (i.e. IEP goals, FBA, BIP, safety plan, etc.)
  • 10. Responsible for creating a structured, therapeutic, safe environment for all students.
  • 11. Complete CPI/nonviolent crisis intervention training upon hire and maintain CPI/nonviolent crisis intervention certification.
  • 12. Demonstrate sound judgments and decisions aligned with school regulations and philosophy and promote a positive school climate that fosters high student expectations and employs appropriate strategies that address multiple learning styles for all students.
  • 13. Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to deal with people in a professional manner in all situations.
  • 14. Able to reach, grasp and handle objects using upper extremities and able to lift and carry objects and/or classroom equipment, up to 45 pounds.
  • 15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the director.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $62,278 to $108,224 Per Year

Job Requirements
