Job summary

Southwest Key Programs in Laredo, TX seeks a Clinician to assess, develop, implement client therapeutic plans and provide individual, family and group counseling within a home-based program.

The role requires on-call availability, extended hours, and travel as needed; schedule is Mon-Fri 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, with driving responsibilities using a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in clinical social work, counseling or other mental health field, or clinical or counseling psychologist.
  • Licensed or license eligible in respective field (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.).
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows including Word and Excel; familiarity with online database systems.
  • Must possess good verbal and writing skills.
  • Flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
  • Clear background check from appropriate entity.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license, registration, and maintain state mandated car insurance, excellent driving record.
  • Two to three years of supervisory training or experience.
  • Experience working with community-based programs, treatment facilities and/or direct practical experience with children and family therapy.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake, admission, and diagnostic assessments and document results.
  • Prepare goal-oriented psychosocial assessments, service plans and progress reports.
  • Document all services in approved systems and update service plans.
  • Provide client progress updates to funding sources as requested.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate client groups and staff trainings as required.
  • Provide case consultations and lead case staffing meetings.
  • Transport clients to required appointments as needed in personal vehicle.
  • Travel for trainings, conferences or home-based counseling as required.
  • Maintain therapeutic services within program and funding source guidelines.
  • Attend trainings, workshops and meetings as requested.

Job Location: Laredo, TX 78041

Position Type: Full Time Regular

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $60,000.00 Salary/year

The Clinician is responsible for assessment, treatment, development and implementation of client therapeutic plans, facilitate individual and family counseling and group counseling, as well as development and delivery of staff training. The Clinician is subject to work extended hours and weekends, and to be on-call. The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday; 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. This program is primarily a home-based program with client services provided in the home. The use of personal vehicle is required.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct intake, admission, and diagnostic assessments with clients, and document results according to Southwest Key Programs standards.
  • Prepare goal-oriented psychosocial diagnostic assessments, service plans and progress reports; update service plans and engage service team members in the process.
  • Document all services provided in Efforts to Outcomes in accordance with program specific requirements.
  • Provide client progress updates to funding source as requested.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate client groups on specific issues; utilize program specific curriculums in accordance to contract requirements.
  • Provide case consultations and lead case staffing meetings.
  • Provide client Transporation to required appointments in personal vehicle as needed.
  • Travel as needed for trainings, conferences or to provide home-based, one-to-one counseling for clients and family.
  • Facilitate and develop staff development training as requested related to clinical issues.
  • Maintain therapeutic services within the Southwest Key and funding source guidelines.
  • Attend training, workshops and meetings upon request.
Other Functions
  • Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with program staff and funding source.
  • Maintain all required trainings and certifications and travel as needed.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Physical Demands

Must be able to obtain First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to verify client’s whereabouts by driving, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Daily use of various office equipment. Bending, stooping, climbing up stairs and lifting up to 15 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.

Work Environment

This is a program which requires daily contact at various client locations. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. This position may require extended periods of time in an automobile. Exposed to prevalent weather conditions.
