Job summary

Viticus Group, based in Las Vegas, seeks a Clinical Veterinarian to provide veterinary oversight for hands-on medical education programs, ensuring animal welfare and regulatory compliance. You will supervise labs with live animals, support instructors and participants, and help manage the Clinical Proficiency Exam (CPE) while guiding staff and maintaining accurate documentation.

A DVM with Nevada license and at least five years of clinical experience is required; DEA license eligibility; travel

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA-accredited institution.
• Active Nevada veterinary license.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical veterinary experience.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgery, and perioperative care.
• Experience with USDA, DEA, IACUC, AVMA compliance.
• Ability to obtain a DEA license.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary oversight and care for live animal programs.
• Oversee anesthesia, surgical prep, intraoperative support and post-operative care.
• Maintain records of procedures and controlled substances.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols for in-house animals.
• Ensure compliance with IACUC, USDA, DEA and AVMA standards.
• Coordinate CPE exam oversight and staff training.
• Collaborate with instructors and program managers to enhance educational delivery.
