Job summary

McClintock Animal Care Center in Arizona offers a veterinary externship designed for 3rd and 4th year students to gain hands-on clinical experience under supervision. Externs will work with Associate Veterinarians to learn patient histories, examinations, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery observation/participation.

Emphasis on communication with the medical team and clients. Externships are typically 2 to 8 weeks, with opportunities for travel/living expense stipends.

Qualifications

• Externship at an NVA hospital will provide hands-on clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Create treatment plans and perform diagnostics.
• Observe or assist in surgical procedures and manage medical cases.
• Communicate with the medical team, staff, and clients.
