Job description

Under the supervision of the Department Manager and following established policies and procedures, the Clinical Unit Educator designs, plans, and manages education projects. They adhere to policies, professional guidelines, adult learning principles, and evidence-based practices to align educational goals with the hospital's strategic needs and mission.

Clinical Duties:

Deliver nursing care to patients under supervision, following nursing standards, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with the manager in unit operations, exercise independent judgment, and utilize advanced clinical skills. Plan and implement nursing care, document assessments, identify situations requiring intervention, and communicate care plans while respecting patients' rights.

Education Duties :

Design and deliver training programs to facilitate organizational change. Evaluate the impact of education initiatives and contribute to improving human performance. Responsibilities include coordinating unit orientation, selecting preceptors, assessing orientees, maintaining CBO tools, facilitating and producing CAPS, assisting in mandatory education initiatives, providing bedside re-education, facilitating student activities, liaising with faculty, supporting clinical ladder activities, participating in new hire selection, representing the department as a subject matter expert, setting unit goals, and assisting with class scheduling and journal clubs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and possess a Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Florida and at least three years of related work experience.
  • MSN or specialty certification approved by the ANCC Magnet program.
  • Preferred: Emergency Department unit-based education experience and simulation experience.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Access, Project, Publisher, and FrontPage is a plus.
