Job summary

Suncoast Research Associates, LLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support clinical trials, investigational drug management, and collaboration with research pharmacists to ensure protocol compliance and safety.

The role focuses on preparing investigational drugs, aseptic compounding, documentation, and proactive communication with investigators, coordinators, and sponsors to uphold regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in pharmacy technician role and clinical research.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification and required coursework are mandatory.
• Related experience may substitute for education; knowledge of trials is preferred.
• Knowledge of regulations and ability to use standard software/tools (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Uphold integrity, ethics, and confidentiality in clinical research settings.
• Prepare investigational drugs per protocol manuals and dose sheets; assist with vaccines as needed.
• Calculate volumes and compound sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Complete study-related documentation for dispensations per guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with Principal Investigator, study coordinators, and sponsor reps about protocol issues.
• Interact professionally with site staff, sponsors, CROs, and patients.
• Order, receive, and storage of study drugs to meet protocol needs and storage requirements.
• Maintain drug accountability and resolve inventory discrepancies; quarantine products when needed.
• Label preparation and data entry tasks; ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and site SOPs.
• Educate and orient staff on new in-patient protocols; uphold quality of care in clinical research.
• Ensure site pharmacy security and compliance with storage and entry requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
