Job summary

Flourish Research in Murrieta, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical visits and procedures at our Valkyrie site. The role involves vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, injections, documentation in EMR, and collaboration with physicians and research staff.

The position is on-site, with a Monday-Friday schedule and competitive hourly pay of $25.00–$27.00, depending on experience. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, with adherence to HIPAA and clinic workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification is preferred but not required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• CPT1 is preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience providing medical support in a clinical setting.
• Oncology experience is preferred.
• Proficient in vital signs, EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, injections, and specimen processing.
• Familiar with EMR documentation and clinical workflows.
• Ability to respond to emergencies.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with physicians, staff, patients, and research teams.
• Ethical, honest, detail-oriented and self-driven.
• Strong critical thinking and medical terminology knowledge.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Execute protocol-specified patient visits and clinical procedures, including vital signs, EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, injections, specimen collection, and assisting providers.
• Coordinate patient flow and prepare examination and treatment areas.
• Document patient communication, clinical assessments, and treatments in the EMR.
• Collect, process, and store laboratory specimens per protocol.
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed by physicians or RNs.
• Schedule and conduct patient visits while aligning with protocol timelines.
• Maintain inventory and ensure supplies and equipment availability.
• Organize and file clinical documentation in the EMR.
• Maintain communication with physicians, clinic leadership, research staff, and care teams.
• Protect confidentiality per HIPAA and confidentiality agreements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
• Represent Flourish professionally in all interactions.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
