Job summary

Flourish Research is actively hiring a Medical Assistant for our Denver, CO site. The role is onsite with a Mon-Fri 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM schedule. Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $26.00 hourly and the position is Non-Exempt under FLSA.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, preparing treatment areas, obtaining vitals and inputting data into EMR, and assisting with exams and procedures such as EKGs and phlebotomy. Oncology experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1–2+ years of relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Rooms patients, prepares and maintains examination and treatment area before, during and after each patient activity.
• Obtains vital signs and inputs them into EMR; recognize and respond to emergencies; report abnormal vitals to providers.
• Prepares the patient and provides information as needed.
• Performs or assists physicians to perform exams, tests and procedures (e.g., EKGs, phlebotomy, venipunctures, finger sticks, injections).
• Collects and processes specimens.
• Prepares and administers oral and parenteral medications and immunizations within scope of practice.
• Documents patient communication and clinical treatments accurately in the EMR.
• Maintains inventory of rooms and supplies; stocks and organizes supplies.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Assist with front desk, back office, patient scheduling, and research staff as needed.
• Complete other tasks assigned by management to support clinic operations.

We are actively hiring a Medical Assistant at our Denver, CO site.

Shift: Monday- Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Compensation: $21.00-$26.00 hourly

• Preparesandadministersoralandparenteralmedicationsandimmunizations, if within scope of practiceasdirectedand supervised by the physician and/or RN.
• Documentspatientcommunicationandclinicaltreatmentsaccuratelyandappropriately within the EMR.
• Performsroutinemaintenanceofinstrumentandclinicalequipment.
• Stockroomsandsuppliesasneeded.Receives,unpacks,organizes,andputsawaymedicalsupplies.
• Receives,organizes,scans,faxesandencountersdocumentsintoEMRbyeitherfilingthose documents properly according to their respective section and/or takingappropriate actionrequired by the document.
• Evaluatesthequalityof careprovidedandrecommendschangesforimprovement.
• Asneeded,floatsbetweendepartmentsandprovidersasassignedbasedondailyclinicneeds.
• Providesupportand coverageoffrontdesk, back office,patient scheduling,and research staff when needed.
• Assistwithgeneralclinicand reception areaduties,includingworkflowsupport,administrativeduties,andprojects as needed.
• Assistswithkeyinitiatives/processimprovementsinthedepartment.
• Completeanyothertask assignedbymanagementtosupportclinicoperations.
• Maintaincompliancewithorganizationalpoliciesandproceduresandrelateddepartmentalprocedures.
• Maintainaclean,safe,andorganizedworkingenvironment.
• Followall HIPAAregulationsinaccordancewithpoliciesandtraining.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and/or protocol issues asappropriateand as bound by Confidentiality Agreements including but not limited to those with Flourish Research, between Flourish Research and sponsors, and between Flourish Research and other entities.
• Performalldutiesinasafeand prudentmanner.
• Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with Flourish staff, sponsors, IRBs, patients, nursing and medical staff members of various clinics, hospitals, andphysician’soffices.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CurrentMedicalAssistantCertification
• Current CPR certification

Experience:

• Minimumof1-2+years’relevantexperienceprovidingmedicalsupportinaclinical setting.
• Oncology experience is preferred.
