Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, seeks an Oncologist - Clinical & Translational Investigator focused on hematologic malignancies to lead the Hematology/Oncology program.

The role emphasizes developing translational research, clinical trials, and collaboration with Massey investigators to bring innovative therapies to patients. Teaching and regional partnerships are expected.

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in medical oncology or hematology
• Eligible for Virginia licensure
• Evidence of accomplishment/potential (e.g., publications, trial PI)
• Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Teaching medical students, residents and fellows in the lab and clinic; actively participate in providing clinical research opportunities to fellows
• Lead and develop innovative clinical trials in hematologic malignancies at Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and the region
• Establish extramural partnerships to bring new therapies to patients and to support investigator-initiated trials
• Participate in Massey’s Clinical Trial Training Program and contribute scholarly activities such as publications and national presentations
• Engage in efforts to decrease health disparities in the community served by Massey/VCU
• Attend inpatient wards and consult services; manage outpatient clinic visits focused on hematologic malignancies
