Job summary

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine Division of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking a Clinical & Translational Investigator with a focus in Hematologic Malignancies to practice at our flagship and satellite locations.

This position will lead innovative early-access clinical trials, develop translational programs with basic science colleagues, and establish extramural partnerships to advance patient care and research in

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in medical oncology or hematology
• Eligible for Virginia licensure
• Evidence of accomplishment/potential (e.g. publications, trial PI) during medical school, residency, fellowship, and/or early academic career
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty at VCU

Responsibilities

• Trains medical students, residents and fellows in the lab and while in the clinic
• Lead and develop innovative clinical trials in hematologic malignancies with extramural partnerships
• Establish extramural collaborations to offer patients early access to novel therapies
• Participate in Massey’s Clinical Trial Training Program and develop IITs; pursue career development funding
• Contribute to decreasing health disparities in the Massey/VCU community
