Job summary

Vail Health seeks a Clinical Trainer to design, implement, and deliver training programs for clinical staff across multi-specialty services. You will develop curricula, collaborate with providers and managers, and ensure staff competency with HIPAA and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities include onboarding and ongoing training, CLIA procedures, and creating continuing education schedules. Strong communication and writing skills are essential in this on-site role at our Avon, CO facility.

Qualifications

• Two years of adult instructional experience, preferably in health care.
• Working knowledge of multi-specialty office operations and EHR usage.
• Three years of patient care and administrative duties.
• Expert knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules.
• Excellent writing, communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deliver training programs for clinical staff.
• Develop programs for Patient Care Technicians transitioning to Clinical Assistants.
• Provide training during initial hire and ongoing periods.
• Collaborate with medical providers and unit management on curricula.
• Provide CLIA training and keep procedures up to date.
• Develop OSHA training procedures to ensure compliance.
• Create and implement an in-service education schedule and document records.

About The Opportunity

The Clinical Trainer will be responsible for developing, implementing, scheduling, and delivering training programs to clinical staff to ensure they meet competency standards to expertly perform their work in a multi-specialty medical practice.

What You Will Do

• Develop, implement, and deliver a training program for new and existing clinical staff. This will include general procedure and specialty training.
• Develop, implement, and deliver a training program for Patient Care Technicians to gain skills, knowledge and abilities so they may successfully transition to Clinical Assistants once specific licensure is obtained.
• Provide training through first weeks of hire and throughout the Patient Care Technician.
• Collaborates with medical providers and unit management in the planning, implementation and delivery of educational curricula.
• Provide CLIA training to staff while staying current on related testing procedures.
• Develop and facilitate OSHA training procedures for new and tenured staff to ensure ongoing compliance with medical practice requirements.
• Create and implement an in-service continuing education schedule for clinical staff. Deliver the training and/or schedule external trainers, and document participant records.
• Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Experience

What you will need:

• Two (2) years of adult instructional experience through job or education, preferably in a health care environment required.
• Working knowledge of multi-specialty office operations, workflows, and experience with utilizing an electronic health record required.
• Three (3) years of experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties required.
• Expert knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations required.
• Excellent writing, communication, public speaking, and customer service skills required.

• One of the following is required:
  • Medical Assistant:
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT)
    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by the National Center for Competency Testing
    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association
    • Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) by the American Medical Certification Association
    • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant by the National Association for Health Professionals
  • State of Colorado Licensed Paramedic
  • State of Colorado Licensed Practical Nurse or valid compact state license
  • State of Colorado Registered Nurse or valid compact state license

Certification(s)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Education

• Bachelor's degree in health care field preferred

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay:: $29.74 USD - $41.04 USD
