Job description

The Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position in anatomic pathology, with the rank of assistant or associate professor.

Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic pathology service (including surgical biopsy and necropsy duty) for Virginia Tech Animal Laboratory Services (ViTALS) and histopathology service for the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Animal Health Laboratory Services.
  • Teach in the DVM professional program.
  • Train pathology residents, which includes teaching in graduate-level pathology courses and participating in histopathology rounds.
  • Engage in independent or collaborative research.
Research Focus Areas
  • Infectious diseases
  • Inflammatory/regulatory disorders (including cancer)
  • Translational/regenerative medicine
  • Epidemiology/disease investigation
Required Qualifications
  • DVM or equivalent
  • ACVP/ECVP board eligible
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACVP/ECVP board certification
  • A PhD in the area of biomedical sciences
