The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a dedicated researcher to provide technical and leadership support for the Viral Genetics and Host Interactions lab at Virginia Tech. Candidates should possess a PhD in molecular biology or a related field and have experience in managing research projects. Responsibilities include conducting assays, data analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge cancer biology research and manage training tasks as well as compliance with safety regulations. Salary is commensurate with experience and the role is exempt from overtime.
This position is responsible for providing technical and leadershipsupport for the Viral Genetics and Host Interactions (VG-HI) lab inthe College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. The individualwill report directly to Dr. James Weger-Lucarelli. This positioninvolves cutting-edge research studying cancer biology anddeveloping strategies to treat cancer. Duties will includemolecular and immunological assays, 2D and 3D cell culture,including primary cells, and procedures with mice. Basic and morecomplex computational tasks will be required for data analysis andinterpretation. Responsibilities also include data analysis,reporting, manuscript and grant preparation, project management andleadership/training tasks, compliance with all safety regulations,and assistance with SOP development. The individual is expected towork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams from academia,government, and industry, and serve as PI/Co-PI on projects.
