The Providence Center is seeking a Clinical Therapist Lead for Child and Family Services. This role supervises the team, carries a caseload, and works to divert hospitalization while improving access to housing and support services.

Under the Program Manager/Director, you will supervise staff planning, assignments, and problem resolution, while maintaining high ethical and clinical standards and coordinating patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required in a clinical area.
• 3–5 years of experience with behavioral health diagnoses in community settings; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance.
• Eligibility for QMHP designation.

Job Summary

The Providence Center Clinical Therapist Lead Child and Family Services (CCBHC) performs all duties of a Clinical Therapist in addition to supporting team members with less experience. The role supervises daily operations of the team, which may serve individuals and families experiencing chronic homelessness and other diverse populations. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, coordinating client care, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices, and providing direct clinical services. The Clinical Therapist Lead carries a caseload and may focus on diversion from hospitalization and access to housing and support services. Key areas of responsibility include team leadership and supervision, clinical and administrative oversight, direct client services, compliance and reporting.

In conjunction with the Program Manager/Director, the Clinical Therapist Lead provides supervision to team staff, including planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing employee concerns and assisting with problem resolution.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the team including weekly and/or daily team meetings.
• Provide leadership to staff regarding training, risk management, day-to-day matters.
• Facilitate an environment that supports staff participation and encourages self-direction and team building.
• Conduct regular supervision meetings with staff and maintain records of the meetings per regulatory requirements.
• Develop staff schedules to meet client needs, ensuring adequate coverage and on-call coverage as needed.
• Provide orientation and initial training for new staff. Assist with ongoing training and staff development.
• Address staff concerns, monitor overdue documentation, etc.
• Ensure the team adheres to the evidence-based model of care.
• Coordinate client care and provide a streamline referral process to the team. Oversee client admissions to and discharge from the team and monitor all interdepartmental referrals.
• Carry a caseload and provide direct service as applicable.
• Assess clinical emergencies, including suicide and danger to others.
• Perform in a calm and professional manner during crisis or emergency situations.
• Apply knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR).
• Use knowledge to decide appropriate levels of care in order to refer to various points in the continuum of care.
• Ensure that confidentiality and the highest standards of ethics are maintained by staff when treating clients, in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.
• Ensure staff compliance with Health Information Services (HIS) and other documentation requirements and maintain required records in accordance with HIS and Center standards.
• Maintain billable hour targets and caseload statistics. Ensure staff compliance with standards.
• Conduct record audits of staff records in accordance with Center requirements. Establish plans for improvement as needed.
• Attend quarterly meetings with other programs to better support other Center teams and client needs.
• Attend ODH Monthly and Bi-Weekly SAMHSA BH meetings as applicable.
• Ensure that staff participating in committees regularly attend meetings and report back to the department on committee activities.
• Participate in appropriate Center committees, attend meetings, and communicate relevant information to staff.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, clients, community agencies, teams at the Center, and the public.
• Perform duties in accordance with departmental goals, objectives and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support client goals and program needs.

Requirements

• Master's Degree Required in a clinical area.
• Minimum 3 to 5 Years of experience working with individuals with behavioral health diagnoses in a community support setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection sticker and insured auto.
• Eligibility for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) designation.
• Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of individuals with mental health issues, their families, and family systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory agency requirements and regulations.
• Proficiency in clinical mental health and substance use treatment principles, including assessment, diagnosis (DSM-5-TR) and therapeutic interventions.
• Knowledge of evidence-based models of care and recovery-oriented treatment approaches.
• Skilled in crisis intervention techniques and risk assessment.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of community resources, including housing, shelter, social services, and healthcare systems.
• Strong clinical interviewing and assessment skills.
• Proficient in developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Crisis management and de-escalation skills.
