Job summary

The Providence Center in Providence, RI, seeks an Assistant Manager I ACT II Team 1F (CCBHC) to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, manage scheduling, and monitor performance to ensure compliant, high-quality care.

You will lead meetings in the manager's absence, support onboarding, coordinate with Emergency Services and community partners, and help coordinate services and client planning while delivering recovery-oriented services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with individuals with behavioral health diagnoses in a community setting.
  • Experience in program management related to assertive community treatment or similar teams is a plus.
  • RI licensure preferred: LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LCDP.
  • Valid driver's license, registration, current inspection, and insured automobile.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and family systems.
  • Leadership and supervision experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and report interpretation.
  • Experience with treatment modalities and standardized tools (PHQ-9, C-SSRS).
  • Crisis assessment, risk management, and de-escalation.
  • Professionalism and calm demeanor during emergencies.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Documentation and electronic record-keeping systems.
  • Collaborative work with community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Manager with daily operations, workflow management, and departmental support.
  • Help with staff scheduling, productivity oversight, and general administrative coordination.
  • Assist with running morning and clinical meetings; facilitate these meetings in absence of the Manager.
  • Assist in monitoring caseloads, documentation quality, service delivery standards, and staff productivity.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training of new and existing staff.
  • Provide supervision of team members as directed by leadership.
  • Support staff with crisis intervention, risk assessments, and service coordination.
  • Complete or support client intakes, assessments, and person-centered treatment planning.
  • Deliver or support recovery-oriented clinical services and daily living skills assistance.
  • Help in troubleshooting client and staff concerns, providing follow-up as needed.
  • Support staff hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Address performance issues, assist in providing coaching to team members and promote a collaborative, professional team culture.
  • May collaborate with HR partners on disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Conduct or participate in community outreach visits, home visits, and client accompaniment to appointments.
  • Transport clients safely in accordance with agency policies when needed.
  • Coordinate services internally and with external providers, advocating client needs across systems.
  • Assist clients with benefits acquisition, housing needs, budgeting, and other essential supports.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation including notes, plans of care, and adherence to confidentiality and safety protocols.
  • Participate in audits, record reviews, and quality-improvement activities.
  • Complete required reports, approve timesheets in absence of the Manager, and support billing and productivity oversight.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, leadership, and community partners; communicate updates as needed.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support client goals and program needs.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager I ACT ii Team 1F (CCBHC) supports daily operations for their team, including staff supervision, scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance with program and regulatory standards to ensure continuity and quality of care. This includes providing leadership and performing direct service duties when applicable. The Assistant Manager I CCBHC helps to sustain a continuum of care that promotes recovery, diverts clients from hospitalization when clinically appropriate, supports timely step-down services for those transitioning from inpatient care, and coordinates appropriate client services with Emergency Services and community partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in documentation and electronic record‑keeping systems, including ability to document in electronic medical records.
