Job summary

SUN Behavioral Houston is seeking a licensed mental health professional to perform comprehensive psychosocial assessments and coordinate admissions and referrals. The role involves engaging with patients, families, and the medical team, and participating in treatment planning and discharge processes to ensure safe and effective care.

Responsibilities include conducting therapy sessions, documenting records, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a mental health related field.
• CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.
• Previous assessment and evaluation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes psychosocial evaluations on assigned patients/clients.
• Interviews patients/clients, family members and others to identify precipitating events and disruption.
• Assesses impact of psychosocial stressors to minimize crisis outcomes.
• Facilitates emergency detention process and prepares legal documents.
• Provides care appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Conducts therapy sessions with individuals and groups.
• Writes clinical assessments and diagnoses for medical records.
• Participates in weekly treatment planning and discharge planning.
• Engages in discharge planning with physicians and staff.
• Collaborates with community resources and medical staff.
