Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Ohio is seeking a Clinical Technician to join G90 on the Urology/Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You will assist with basic patient care under the supervision of an RN, help with vital signs, transfers, and basic procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role offers hands-on growth, tuition reimbursement eligibility, and a clear path to developing clinical skills while supporting diverse patients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • Proficiency in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an 8th grade level.
  • Competencies in professional, technical and clinical knowledge must be demonstrated safely and efficiently.
  • One year of recent full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with clinical rotation OR military medical experience or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs and transfers.
  • Assist with personal care, dressing changes, and point-of-care testing.
  • Report abnormal findings to RN and maintain clean, orderly patient rooms.

G90 is a fast-paced Urology/Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit caring for patients recovering from complex and highly acute surgical procedures. Our team provides thoughtful, hands-on care throughout the recovery process, helping patients manage pain, regain strength and mobility, and return to their daily lives. The unit cares for a diverse surgical population, with a strong focus on urology and surgical patients.

As a Clinical Technician, you will assist with basic patient care, maintain room cleanliness and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, patient transfers/transport, applying external monitoring devices, further technical skills of phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG's and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within new hire period *Nursing students must obtain prior to hire*
  • Proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level
  • Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  • One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health).
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $19.25

Maximum hourly: $25.95
