Job summary

Cleveland Clinic in Twinsburg, OH is seeking a part-time Clinical Technician to support basic patient care and maintain clean, safe spaces. You will work with an RN to take vitals, assist with personal care, and participate in point-of-care testing, contributing to excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Competencies in professional, technical and clinical knowledge must be demonstrated safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency in basic math and reading comprehension at an 8th grade level.

• Assist with personal care and dressing changes as needed.
• Report abnormal findings to an RN and keep patient rooms clean and orderly.

As a Clinical Technician, you will assist with basic patient care, maintain room cleanliness and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. A caregiver in this part time position works two 12 hour shifts a week.

These are either 7:00am-7:30pm or 11:00am - 11:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period *Nursing students must obtain prior to hire
• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)
• Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
• Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $19.25

Maximum hourly: $25.95
