At Fast Pace Health, Clinical Techs provide essential clinical and administrative support for effective patient care under the supervision of Providers, Nurse Practitioners, or Physician Assistants. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or treatment responses. The position involves delivering excellent customer service to internal and external customers through in-depth knowledge and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Perform all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist role as detailed in the specific job description.
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Follow the Core Values: teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Ensure activities comply with department expectations, federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triaging patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, injections, etc.
  • Observe patients, chart and report changes in conditions, and take necessary actions.
  • Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  • Support providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing Virtual Medicine services.
  • Ensure accurate, timely completion of patient charts and forwarding as needed.
  • Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
  • Maintain positive relations with clients and employees, fostering a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified.
  • Comply with company standards and promote confidentiality.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the office and support a professional environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary:

  • Assist with clerical tasks like patient check-in, demographic, insurance, and financial info recording.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and return calls professionally.

Supporting Telehealth:

  • Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
  • Assist with follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Additional Requirements:

Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care.

Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic, current CPR license, with either 4 years’ relevant experience and 2 years in Fast Pace role or 6 years’ relevant experience.

Level 3 & 4: Similar to Level 2 but with increased experience requirements, as detailed.

Additional responsibilities include administrative duties like scheduling, ordering, and training, assigned by management. CPR license must be active within 7 days of hire.

Experience and Education Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 1-year relevant experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Active, verifiable license or certification, TB and IV certification required within 60 days if applicable.
