Henry Ford Health is seeking a Clinical Tech to provide direct patient care under supervision in our Jackson Hospital ED. You will assist with assessments, monitor vitals, and perform phlebotomy while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to recognize differences in care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.

Are you passionate about patient care and looking to grow in a dynamic, supportive healthcare environment as a Clinical Tech, you’ll play a hands‑on role in delivering high‑quality, compassionate care under the guidance of our dedicated nursing staff and physicians. Whether you’re taking vitals, assisting with procedures, or simply ensuring comfort, you'll be a vital part of the patient journey.

60 bed ED with preferred space for behavioral health population

• Level II Trauma Designation with a diverse population
• Nursing led department with very active Unit Based Council – nursing autonomy & ownership

• Specialty training with support for multiple certifications
• Flexible scheduling options with 9- or 12-hour shifts

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Collecting and recording essential patient data – vitals, food and fluid intake/output, and more – with precision and care.
• Responding to patient needs and partnering with RNs to ensure maximum comfort and safety.
• Noticing the little changes that can make a big difference – and reporting them promptly.
• Supporting mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go.
• Assisting with oxygen devices under RN direction and applying slings post-pacemaker procedures.
• Performing clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results.
• Providing help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene.
• Supporting RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures.
• Delivering culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients — from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Promoting positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction.
• Performing phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one of the following: Current nursing student with two completed semesters, graduate of a Registered Nurse program, LPN, EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assistant program completion, or Certification in Phlebotomy.
• Valid BLS certification or obtained during Patient Care Orientation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to recognize differences in care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Clinical Tech experience.
• Experience in an acute care setting.
