Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of patient care assistant or clerical experience.
• Post high school business/secretarial/computer training preferred.
• Notary Public for WV or obtain within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care support within the nursing unit under supervision.
• Maintain communication between health care team members and with patients.
• Assist with activities of daily living for patients as needed.
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record per policy.
• Perform clerical tasks using computer, copier, phone, and fax.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Demonstrate competency in technical skills and complete daily skills checks.
• Answer call bells according to hospital standards.
• Use equipment appropriately and report concerns promptly.
