Job summary

  • Assist in specimen collection under RN supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
  • Report equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicate nutrition concerns to the RN.
  • Support the department with administrative tasks and answer patient call bells.

Clinical Technician
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Graduate of Accredited Nursing School or in the final year of Nursing School
  2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Prior patient care experience.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. 1. Observes and reports all abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to Registered Nurse.
  2. 2. Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, and discharge of the patient.
  3. 3. Records vital signs, weights, Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, application and removal of telemetry
  4. 4. Assists in specimen collection and other activities under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
  5. 5. Assists in indirect patient care by maintaining a clean and safe environment to help prevent and/or control infections and to provide for safety of patients, visitors and employees.
  6. 6. Reports all necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel according to departmental procedure in a timely manner.
  7. 7. Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
  8. 8. Communicates with RN regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or verbalized lack of understanding of diet changes.
  9. 10. Assists department with administrative tasks to support the department operations.
  10. 11. Answers patient call bell and relays message to appropriate personnel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. 1. Heavy/Hard Work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  1. 1. Working closely with others.
