Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and the orthopedic care team across multiple locations. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with patient care, and help coordinate follow-up and pre/post-operative activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and ensure clinical areas are ready for patients and providers.
• Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document relevant medical history and information.
• Support physicians and clinical team members with patient care throughout the visit.
• Educate patients on orthopedic care, including cast care, traction care, and the proper use of orthopedic appliances.
• Enter physician-directed orders for services such as X-rays and physical therapy.
• Coordinate follow‑up appointments, post‑operative visits, diagnostic studies, and other patient care needs.
• Assist with surgery scheduling, including coordinating pre‑operative testing, therapy, and pre‑ and post‑operative equipment.
• Help manage patient flow to support an efficient and positive experience for patients and providers.
• Respond to patient calls, triage questions and concerns, and address issues promptly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked exam, treatment, and bracing rooms.
• Follow safety procedures for sharps and biohazard disposal.
• Partner with the broader clinical team to support an exceptional patient experience.

Compensation Range for this position:

$20.68 - $31.02 Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
