Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV is seeking a Full Time Clinical Support Assistant/Transporter to safely move patients throughout the medical center under the supervision of the Manager of Patient Transport/Customer Service.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, nurse aide training preferred, and be able to lift patients, communicate with staff and maintain calm under pressure, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Nurse aide program preferred.
• Nurse aide experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with the public/patients and families helpful.
• Must maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients throughout the Medical Center.

Job Description

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Clinical Support Assistant/Transporter under the direction of the Manager, Patient Transport/Customer Service or authorized designee, the Transporter will safely and efficiently transport patients throughout the Medical Center.

Requirements

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a nurse aide program preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Nurse aide experience preferred but not required. Previous experience working with the public and or patients and their families helpful.

SKILLS: Verbal ability required to communicate with patients and understand instructions received from nursing staff. Ability to lift patients and operate transport equipment. Good body mechanics. Have nimble hands and a pleasing voice. Should have the ability to remain calm even when working under pressure. Maintains BLS certification.
