St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, VA is seeking a Full time Transporter to safely move patients throughout the hospital under supervision of the Patient Transport Manager.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and nurse aide experience preferred, with strong verbal communication, good body mechanics, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. BLS certification is expected.

Job Description

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full timeTransporter under the direction of the Manager, Patient Transport or authorized designee, the Transporter will safely and efficiently transport patients throughout the Medical Center.

Requirements

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a nurse aide program preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Nurse aide experience preferred but not required. Previous experience working with the public and or patients and their families helpful.

SKILLS: Verbal ability required to communicate with patients and understand instructions received from nursing staff. Ability to lift patients and operate transport equipment. Good body mechanics. Have nimble hands and a pleasing voice. Should have the ability to remain calm even when working under pressure. Maintains BLS certification.
