Job summary

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) seeks a resilient Clinical Support Specialist to join the mental health team at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln, NE. Working under the Mental Health Supervisor, you will deliver structured support in a correctional residential setting and engage in ongoing mental health training.

You will lead psychoeducational classes, help orient residents to programs, and document progress while participating in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field.
• Two years of experience with people referred through the legal system.
• Must be at least 18 years old; no felony or domestic abuse convictions.
• Background check and pre-employment exams required.

Responsibilities

• Lead psychoeducational classes for residents.
• Instruct and orient to mental health units and programming.
• Provide verbal de-escalation for participants.
• Input into individualized treatment plans and participate in meetings.
• Support daily living and therapeutic activities.
• Write incident reports and contact notes.
• Develop and implement behavioral baselines.
• Work under supervision of Mental Health supervisor.
