Stony Brook Internists, UFPC is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant to provide general medical office administrative support in Stony Brook, NY. You will handle phone coverage for your desk and assist with overflow calls to the department, serving as a liaison between patients and physicians, and supporting daily clinic operations.

Location Stony Brook, NY

Schedule Full time

Days/Hours Monday - Friday; 830 AM - 5 PM

Pay $20.44 - $25.55

SUMMARY

To provide general medical office administrative support. Phone coverage for own desk and overflow calls to the department. Acts as a liaison between patients and physicians.

Job Duties & Essential Functions
  • Assists in the overall operation of the medical office.
  • Answers telephone calls and takes and routes messages.
  • Interfaces with physicians and patients.
  • File medical and administrative correspondence for the department.
  • Process prescription renewal requests.
  • Complete patient forms.
  • Obtain records
  • All other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Some clerical experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of administrative/clerical experience.
  • EMR experience.
  • Medical Office experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Prior pre-authorization process experience.
  • Spanish speaking.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
