Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Clinical Supply Chain Associate to support nursing and surgical teams by ensuring clinical supplies and implants are on hand for upcoming cases. You will create, track and receive requisitions, replenish deliveries, maintain stock across storage locations, and work with vendors to optimize par levels and cost savings.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with healthcare experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of surgical equipment and inventory controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and CMRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and prepare cases for upcoming procedures.
  • Maintain, control and restock all areas—Clinical Supply Chain Management supplies.
  • Create requisitions and scan par locations for operating/procedural rooms (manual requisitions, rush orders, special requests).
  • Open incoming deliveries and replenish stock in storeroom/OR carts.
  • Establish consignment pars with outside vendors.
  • Suggest replacements for backorders/recalls/discontinued/expiring products.
  • Reconcile invoices with Purchasing & Accounts Payable.
  • Check expirations and rotate stock for proper use.
  • Liaise with vendors regarding upcoming/completed cases (loaner trays/implants).
  • Set par amounts and complete reviews for all carts.
  • Create Patient Supply Requests for new products approved by ICB & Nursing leadership.
  • Communicate with coworkers and Nursing staff verbally or by email.
  • Work independently and in a team; attend departmental meetings.
  • Assist with LVAD department requests.
  • Maintain tissue and temperature log books.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Supply Chain Associate.

In this role, the successful candidate ability to work in accordance with Nursing and surgeons to ensure proper items on hand for upcoming cases. Create, track and receive requisitions for assorted clinical supplies/implants. Receive and replenish all incoming deliveries. Maintain appropriate stock levels in assorted storage locations. Create possible cost savings opportunities by performing par cart reviews to remove excessive or obsolete products. Create and perform daily record keeping such as temperature, tissue, and implant logs. Work with vendors for loaner items and consignment products. Work and train amongst multiple departments. Establish processes for proper individual/team workflow.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Pick cases for next days cases
  • Responsible to maintain, control and restock all areas supplies responsible to Clinical Supply Chain Management
  • Create requisitions and scan par location supplies for use operating/procedural rooms: Manual requisitions, Rush Orders, Special Requests, Consignment Orders, Bill Only POs, No Charge POs (trials/consignments)
  • Open incoming deliveries of ordered products and replenish stock within storeroom/OR carts
  • Establish consignment pars with outside vendors
  • Suggest and locate replacement products for use in case of backorders/recall/discontinued/expiring products
  • Work with Purchasing & Accounts Payable departments to reconcile invoices
  • Check expirations on all products within realm of CSCM and actively rotate stock to ensure appropriate product use
  • Establish working relationship with vendors in regards to upcoming/completed cases (loaner trays/implants, scrub POs, consignment supplies)
  • Establish par amounts and complete par reviews on all carts to add/remove products
  • Create Patient Supply Requests for new products approved by ICB & Nursing leadership
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, Nursing staff verbally/by email
  • Ability to work independently as well as within group setting
  • Attend departmental/Nursing related meetings
  • Assist with LVAD department requests
  • Maintain tissue and temperature log books
Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or combination of education and Healthcare related experience. Excellent knowledge of surgical equipment and inventory controls. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree preferred. Certification in materials resources CMRP. Experience in computerized inventory control with an emphasis on medical/surgical supplies. (Peoplesoft 9+ preferred)

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $50,204.70 - $51,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
