Overview

Starting Pay: $95,000-$100,000 annually. $5,000 hiring bonus available.

Essential Functions

The Clinical Director of Severe Behavior Services oversees applied behavior analysis programs and supervises direct reports. Core duties include:

  • Facilitating behavior programs for individuals with severe challenging behaviors using Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
  • Conducting assessments and experimental functional analysis.
  • Providing parent education, developing and delivering intervention activities, and serving as a liaison with families, community agencies, and healthcare providers.
  • Supporting both center‑based and home‑based services and operations.
  • Performing evaluations, case‑management reviews, quality assurance reviews, and audits for own caseload and assigned regions.
  • Meeting productivity requirements as established in the annual budget.
  • Leading staff meetings and preparing specialized training materials.
  • Developing protocols for experimental functional analysis and other assessments.
  • Defining and communicating associate responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities.
  • Managing and evaluating the performance and productivity of associates in the assigned region.
  • Providing training and onboarding for new associates and ongoing training for Program Managers and Behavior Technicians, including certification preparation.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources on recruitment and selection of associates for the program.
  • Attending conferences and continuing education to stay current on research and best practices.
  • Assisting families and other community agencies with questions and concerns.
  • Supporting Behavior Technicians and Program Managers with at least two four‑hour shifts per week in clinic.
  • Providing supervision hours for SBS Associates accruing BCBA practicum hours.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
  • Master's degree in ABA or a related field.
  • Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification with at least two years of active practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Crisis Management Training (MCPP) Intermediate and Advanced (training provided).
Experience
  • Minimum five years of professional experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • One to three years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of scientifically validated ABA methods and current research findings.
  • Competent in designing and conducting behavioral assessments, including descriptive assessment and experimental functional analysis.
  • Proficient in delivering function‑based intervention plans and Functional Communication Training (FCT).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent judgment, decision‑making, and customer‑service orientation.
  • Effective oral and written communication; teamwork and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Professional discretion and confidentiality handling of sensitive information.
Legal and Health Requirements
  • Pass post‑offer physical examination and TB test.
  • Provide proof of required vaccinations or acceptable declination.
  • Obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from DOJ and FBI as required.
  • Pass all drug testing required by ESSC.
Travel and Physical Requirements
  • Travel locally up to 50% of the time.
  • Carry/lift occasional 0-30 lbs. or up to 70 lbs.
  • Stand up to 3 hours per day; sit up to 8 hours per day; walk up to 3 hours per day.
  • Repetitive motion activities such as keyboard use, phone use, and writing.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to view a computer monitor and read newsprint.
  • Exposure to moderate noise, heat, dust, and bodily fluids may occur.
