Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center is seeking an ICU Clinical Supervisor to lead both clinical and managerial functions in a 36-hour week night shift role. The position oversees patient care, staff performance, and collaboration with physicians and nursing leadership to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and a BSN (or enrollment within one year). CCRN preferred. UHS operates multiple facilities nationwide, including this Sparks, NV location.

Qualifications

• Current state Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• CCRNoN certification preferred (must obtain within 1 year).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or enrolled within one year of employment or transfer into supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in ICU clinical setting.
• Perform disciplinary actions and participate in staff hiring/termination decisions.
• Communicate with the Nurse Director, physicians, and colleagues about changes in patient condition or test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.

This ICU Clinical Supervisor opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This position performs a dual function, clinical and managerial. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting, performs disciplinary actions, participates in hiring and termination of staff. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Competent in the care of patients within the specialty area.
• Consults other departments/disciplines as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
• Communicates appropriately and clearly to Nurse Director, co-workers and physicians.
• Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
