Job summary

IHA is seeking an experienced RN to provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for ambulatory staff across LOC Med Specialties clinic, LOC Gen Med Clinic, and Centralized Med Specialty Nurse Triage.

The role requires a minimum of five years as a Registered Nurse with IL licensure, BLS/CPR, and strong leadership and communication skills. This full-time position is based in Illinois and focuses on improving patient care and staff development.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current State of Illinois RN license.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and teach staff effectively.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and interact effectively in challenging environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review clinical documentation and reports accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Establish caring, therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and clinic leadership.
  • Lead and participate in daily safety and capacity huddles.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization to align with patient volume and productivity targets.
  • Support clinic goals, change initiatives, and nursing shared governance activities.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action.
  • Create and manage staffing schedules with lead staff for coverage.
  • Provide education and guidance to staff and/or students for growth and competency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and development of evidence-based care protocols.
  • Monitor patient safety and ensure timely interventions.
  • Support clinic management with productivity and budget goals while ensuring safe care.
  • Assist with conflict resolution and foster a positive team environment.
  • Maintain accountability for personal practice and annual goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and clinic leadership to meet patient and family needs.
  • Lead and participate in daily safety and capacity huddles.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization to align with patient volume, acuity, and productivity targets.
  • Support clinic goals, change initiatives, and nursing shared governance activities.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action when needed.
  • Create and manage staffing schedules in partnership with lead staff to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Provide education and guidance to staff and/or students to support professional growth and competency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and the development of evidence-based care protocols.
  • Monitor patient safety, recognize changes in patient status, and ensure timely, appropriate interventions.
  • Support clinic management with productivity, staffing, and budgetary goals while ensuring safe patient care.
  • Assist with conflict resolution and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • At least three (3) years of RN experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • National nursing certification.
Compensation

Salary Range: $36.12 - 57.80 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
